Gummy Bear House League Race #3 Sunday, February 7, 2016

Aviary Photo_130993676241782213What a thrill for some of these young racers to go head to head, on a track, down the new X course at the bottom of True North! Each run proved better than the next, as confidence grew and skis started to come out of a “pizza” and into more parallel “French fries”. Our coaches even tried their luck, along with a few daring parents who got to the bottom and wanted to try it again.
A huge thank you to Mark Young, course setter extraordinaire, for a challenging, safe run that ages 4 to 100 could enjoy. Another big thanks to starter Clarity Nicoll who entertained the teams at the top with such antics as, “So here’s Adam….. listen closely as he sings Adele” OR “Who do you think can do a better cartwheel – Clarity or Adam?”
And of course we can’t forget our other coaches Matt, Grant, Lean, Tamara, Meg, Taylor, Abby, Genevieve and Kevin who outdid themselves rounding up racers at the bottom, safely getting them up and off the chairs, and leading their team cheers!

Well done to team Crimson Cardinals for their outstanding cheer with full team participation!
Some special awards this week went to Fall girl: Ella Roland, Fall guys: Curtis Defoe and James Langstaff AND best of all, winner of the Lost Tooth on the Way Down the Course award: Charlie Young.
For the first time in Gummy Bear History, results had teams only 1 point apart at the end of the day.
1 Fandango Firebirds 18
2 Fern Falcons 17
3 Blue Jays 16
4 Crimson Cardinals 15
5 Teal Thunderbirds 14
See you for the final race, featuring panel gates, on Sunday, February 21.
