Mother Nature was much kinder to our young racers on Sunday with lots of fun on Cat’s Meow for a dual slalom down the rollers and over the spine. Parents lined the race course and some even tried their luck at the tricky, tight course with many laughs when their feet wouldn’t work fast enough to get between the gates. Getting your feet to move your skis quickly is a great skill to develop and the young racers did a wonderful job of trying to improve on each run.
We had some fun thrills and spills and our fall guys were: Logan Cunningham, Grayson Mitchell, Ethan McQueen, Benjamin Lopez and Ben Rayner. Our one fall girl was reserved for coach Meg Paterson, who did a complete 360 to win a 10 point score from the judges!
The teams that did well were the ones who could successfully navigate the course and go through all the gates.
Standings:
1 Crimson Cardinals 13 points
2 Teal Thunderbirds 11 points
3 Fern Falcons 8 points
4 Blue Jays 5 points
5 Fandango Firebirds 4 points
Don’t forget to work on your team cheer, which will be presented at awards on Week #3 – February 7th.
